battle vs ainz can be easily predicted. does the character have precautions against time magic? and can they be targeted by instant death magic? those are the two main questions. because if a character has either one, that battle is likely to end with them winning. in the world of overlord, as far as im aware, the only enemy that ainz fought and won against that had both of those questions answered with yes is shalltear, and he only won that fight because he: 1. Had enough prep time to go pull all the expensive loot from his house and buff himself into the sky, as well as hitting her with the equivalent of a nuke befor the fight started. 2. Manipulated her through emotions and lies to turn the battle the way he wanted it to be. 3. he literally KNEW HER ENTIRE KIT BY HEART!! She was one of the floor guardians, specifically a high level undead(true vampire, which gives her immunity to instant death, i think), and given how ainz didnt use time magic she probably had countermeasures against it. he knew all her spells, he knew her personality and he knew her equipment. its the same as going into battle after studying your enemy for years and getting all the equipment you can get. and he only lucked out because she was too trusting and not tactical enough. if someone who, not by overlord standards but by other anime standards, has counters to magic fights ainz, hes gonna snap ainz like a twig, because in the overlord world the time stop spell is only lvl7, which is still 4 levels higher than a normal human in the new world can achieve, but in the game Yggdrassil(the one where ainz and his guild originally come from) spells can go up to lvl10, and maxing out your level, which usually comes with a super tier spell(basically lvl11), is just the beginning of the midgame stage of progression. ainz is not an all powerful deity, he is the equivalent of a lvl20 necromancer/instakill oriented wizard in dnd, but if he was actually balanced. because his character stats are not that great. 600+ spells, sure. mana going over the stat limit, sure. but he snaps like a twig from any direct hits from a fighter at the same level. if you can bypass his magic(and are higher than ~lvl 60 by his worlds standards) you can break him down into a nice pile of bone dust. it pains me to say this, but ainz is hard carried by the time stop/instakill combo. if not for those two, he would rank lower. well, not necessarily at the bottom, he can still fully negate strikes from any creature below lvl60. but still, anyone capable of breaking through his time stop or walking off his instant death is already over the level that his ability blocks, so basically anyone that can break through the 12 combo have a decently high chance of winning. unless we go into items he can use, at which point it becomes very, VERY tedious.
